An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Occupational Therapist to join our growing interdisciplinary and national Brain Injury Community Service (BICS).  We provide specialist goal-orientated neurorehabilitation, delivered within the child’s environment and across the UK.  Working with the child, their family and professional networks, we focus on the needs that result from an acquired brain injury (ABI).

Your week will be varied as you work with the team to deliver a pathway of support, including clinical screening, brain injury education and onward referral through to interdisciplinary neurorehabilitation skills packages, to children and young people with social, emotional, cognitive, communicative and behavioural needs arising from ABI.  You will be supported by highly specialist therapy and psychology colleagues from the team, as well as a small team of administrators.  You will be based at the main BICS hub in Tadworth and will travel to homes and schools on a regular basis, as the caseload requires; you will be a car driver and willing to travel for work.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of childhood development, knowledge of neuroanatomy and an interest in the wide ranging sequelae of childhood ABI.  You will have experience of working in healthcare and/or school settings as part of a multidisciplinary team, and experience of working with families and carers.
