Who We Are
Circle Health is a company that runs hospitals and health services in the UK. We were founded in 2004, and we are different to most healthcare organisations because. · We run healthcare in a new way: we put front-line clinicians, doctors and nurses in charge. By giving them responsibility and freedom, we believe they will run more effective, safe and caring services. · And finally, we run some completely new types of service. We built independent hospitals which pioneered five-star hospitality in the UK, and we’re the only organisation running some innovative types of work in the NHS, like our Bedfordshire musculoskeletal contract. Circle facilities Circle Bath first opened its doors in March 2010. Designed by renowned architect Sir Norman Foster, this award-winning private hospital offers both inpatient and outpatient care in a unique setting overlooking the Wiltshire countryside. With a chef trained at Michelin-starred establishments, staff trained in hospitality and excellent clinical care, Circle Bath was a pioneer in developing hospitals that feel more like a hotel. In 2014, it was ranked among the highest-scoring hospitals for patient-reported outcomes in hip and knee surgery.
Opened in 2012, CircleReading has 30 inpatient beds, 20 daycase beds and 15 consultation rooms for outpatient appointments. This state of the art building has 5 theatres, equipped with the latest technologies and an extensive physiotherapy department. CircleReading developed the look and feel of care first tried in Bath and sees approximately 4,500 patients each month and around 600 of these are day case patients.
The Nottingham NHS Treatment Centre is the largest day-case centre in Europe. It operates under a Standard Acute Contract, providing a wide range of outpatient, inpatient, diagnostic and therapeutic services. It is the only independent sector facility in the UK to offer teaching and research, including pre and post-graduate medical, nursing and AHP training.
Circle MSK operates a single hub for MSK services across the Bedfordshire region as a ‘prime contractor’. This places Circle in charge of organising the system and integrating all the providers around a central service. Any patient requiring treatment for MSK is referred to the hub for specialist triage by their GP; they are sent on to the right care. The patients are then offered choice over who provides the service, being able, for example, to choose which hospital they attend.
