Category: Regional Groups Meeting Thames Valley Acquired Brain Injury Forum (TVABIF) - First official meeting

April 11, 2018

Oxford Centre for Enablement
Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre

The meeting will take place at the Oxford Centre for Enablement at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre and will be chaired by Andy Tyerman, Head of the Community Head Injury Service at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.

As this is the first meeting, it is very much about getting people together, having some open discussions about how as a group of professionals we take the forum forwards and how we can work together on the delivery of it. The future success of the forum will rely on our collective input not just in the organisation of future meetings, setting the agenda, sharing information and workstreams, but in coming up with ideas for stimulating content that will keep the forum interesting for us all. A steering group has been developed and an interim organisational structure agreed to get things started and there will be an open opportunity for individuals to be part of this, any input would be greatly appreciated.

Professor Udo Kischka MD FRCP, Consultant in Neurological Rehabilitation has very kindly agreed to come and speak to us about his recent experience of having a Stroke and his journey through rehabilitation and plans to return to work.

A working lunch will be provided. Please can you confirm your attendance by return so that we can arrange catering, please also let us know if you have any dietary requirements other than vegetarian.
