Our latest newsletter is now available below and includes articles about the NIHR patient and carer survey, fundraising, regional groups and the UKABIF Annual Conference and Awards. It also heralds a new publication, a mainstream brain injury magazine entitled B21. This includes an extremely interesting piece by James Cracknell on the road to re-discovery after suffering a severe brain injury due to a road accident whilst cycling across America in 2012. James, who listed UKABIF as one of his favourite charities (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/men/active/10472742/James-Cracknell-my-recommended-brain-injury-charities.html) spoke very movingly about his experience with wife Beverley Turner at UKABIF’s conference in 2013.
A quick reminder that the deadline for the UKABIF Awards has been extended to 16th October 2015 – this year there are categories for Lawyer of the Year, Care Provider of the Year, Clinician of the Year and the Stephen McAleese Award for Inspiration and Innovation – entering is very simple, just click below for the application form and return as soon as possible.
