First ever UK study indicates brain injury may contribute to risk of becoming homeless.
Brain injury could affect almost half (48%) of homeless people and may contribute to the risk of people becoming homeless in the first place, says a new study launched today by national charity The Disabilities Trust through its Foundation.
The Children’s Trust has launched a new website providing information and support to the parents of children The Brain Injury Hub (www.braininjuryhub.co.uk) draws on the specialist clinical expertise that has been developed at The Children’s Trust in more than 25 years of providing rehabilitation to children with acquired brain injury (ABI).
A survey of carers for people with brain injury carried out by Headway shows carers urgently need more support. 60% of carers do not feel they have adequate support and only 27% have received a carers assessment. 59% show signs of clinical depression.
