Who Are You Now? Exploring changed identity after brain injury

Through talks, workshops and a discussion forum, we’ll explore what makes and shapes our identities, how a sense of identity can change after brain injury, and how a positive sense of self can be rebuilt.

Speakers include:

  • Matthew Colbeck who will speak about representations of coma and head injury in literature.
  • Gemma Davies who will speak about her research into the neurological underpinnings of identity.
  • Jamie Renton who will talk about the social construction of disability.

Plus Members and Staff of Headway East London talking about their experiences of the effects of brain injury, and about activities that help Members feel good about who they are now.
