Welcome to the Northamptonshire ABI Forum

This group was established in January 2009. The group aims to address a number of key areas including:

• A service mapping exercise.  This is to enable the existing wide range and variety of services for people with an acquired brain injury in Northamptonshire to be identified, properly collated and catalogued.
• Care pathway development.  This is to look at current care pathways used within Northamptonshire County Council and Northamptonshire PCT for people with an acquired brain injury; to compare these with existing modules of good practice, for example, the “Gold Standard” Care Pathway for Acquired Brain Injury developed by Sussex ABIF and similar work being pursued by colleagues in Cambridgeshire. 
• Education and brain injury awareness.  This includes organising appropriate events to raise public and professional awareness of brain injury and relevant issues; and looking to participate or support programmes of education for Service Providers or Service Commissioners in Northamptonshire.
