The Annual Conference of the Brain Injury Social Work Group (BISWG) will take place at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester on Thursday 22nd April.
Chaired by Grahame Codd, Partner of Irwin Mitchell and Val Suffolk, Chair of BISWG speakers include:
Professor Ken Wilson, Professor of Psychiatry or Liverpool University who will speak about Alcohol related brain injury and how their project was set up to deal with this issue.
Czarina Kirk, Consultant Neuropsychiatrist, St George's Healthcare and Ryan Aguiar, Neuro-psychologist from Ashworth Hospital will talk about Neuropsychological and Neuropsychiatric consequences of substance misuse and the forensic context in people with ABI.
Steve Shears, Training Manager from Headway will present 'Alcohol and TBI - make mine a double'
Dr Howard Jackson from the TRU in Merseyside will look at the cognitive approaches to substance misuse
Cate Devane from BIRT will share the work of the Alcohol Awareness Group in York House
Roseann Logan, Locality Manager for Glasgow ARBD will give an overview of the services at Glasgow SAMH ARBD
