Keith Hawley, Independents Healthcare Governance Adviser

My involvement in ABI started back in 1979 as a nurse on the Kemsley Unit at St Andrews Hospital followed by almost 3 years developing Transitional Living Services for Casa Colina Hospital in California. I worked with Brain Injury Services at Grafton Manor and commissioned their Elm Park unit in Colchester.
I have been involved in the development and assessment of the HQS (now CHKS) standards for brain injury units and have had some involvement with the CARF accreditation programme.
I continue to be involved both locally and nationally with UKABIF, BISWG, BABICM and Headway groups and would like to offer the experience and skills I have to ensuring that the needs fo people with an ABI are addressed at both a national and local level.
