Amanda Swain is clinician by background having originally trained as an Occupational Therapist specialising in Acquired Brain Injury. She also holds a Masters in Law (Health) and has worked in the NHS, MOD & Voluntary/Charity sector. 

Amanda joined UKABIF when she held the role of National ABI Adviser. He work included helping to formulate National papers including the NSF particularly the ABI and neuro Quality Requirements, the Royal College Physicians PVS and Coma guidelines and the Health Select committee medico-legal status paper on the right to rehabilitation.

Amanda has been involved with defining standards of service provision with most inspection bodies in the UK(HCC HQS, CC etc) and in New Zealand.
