Report from APPG AGM 2004
An AGM for the APPG on Acquired Brain Injury was held on the 22nd July
2004.
The Officers elected were:
-Chairman - Mr Bob Russell MP (Liberal Democrat, Colchester),
-Deputy Chairman - Mr David Cairns MP (Labour, Greenock and Inverclyde)
-Secretary - Mr John Hayes MP (Conservative, South Holland & The
Deepings)
The meeting expressed great sadness, at the death of Mr Jim Marshall MP
who had been a previous chairman of the APPG. The gratitude and
appreciation of the Group was recorded for all the hard work and
contribution Jim Marshall had made to the support of brain injured people.
The group was informed that UKABIF has taken over the administrative
support for the APPG from Headway. The members of the APPG expressed
their thanks to Headway for the support they had given.
It was agreed that four meetings would be planned for each year. UKABIF
will provide briefings and updates on important issues for these meetings.

The progress on 'Pathways to Work: Helping People into Employment"
The National Service Framework on Long Term Conditions.
The Mental Incapacity Bill
The Mental Health Bill
